I've seen both and am wondering when did Panerai make the change to the 682 caseback? Were the early ones sapphire and recent ones solid?

just happened. seems to be a creative change from Panerai to make submersibles have solid caseback.

I'm digging this change in direction, if you can call it that. Always liked the solid caseback in submersibles. Now I can get one from Panerai as well.

it looks like the PAM 682 (42mm submersible), which had a sapphire crystal caseback since it came out, is now being sold (and shown on the website) as having a solid caseback. does anyone know anything about this?? I saw someone post on one forum that they've switched it up on account of water leakage??

I love it. I like it much better than the other one that's offered. This one maintains the teeth around the edge
