After a long day of work, I showered with my Panerai on. The next morning, I started noticing condensation. :( The watch is 3 months old still under Amazon warranty. Yes, I realized I took my chances buying from grey market but the deal seemed to good to pass (until now). I've got the watch inside a zip-loc bag of rice right now.

In my situation, would you:

1. Send it to Amazon's repair center at virtual no-cost to me but risking repair with 3rd party parts?
2. Send it to the Panerai Service Center in Richemont at my own cost?
3. Do nothing and wait for the condensation to dry.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Does amazon's repair center cover water damage?

I would put it in a BIG bag of rice, the drier and more rice the faster it will absorb. Throw some fresh desciant bags in there too. Bury it for a week. This has worked for me before with cheaper watches. If that doesn't work, then revisit your options.

Trouble is if you dry it out, it will only get wet again. Obviously its not sealed properly

Me personally, I would remove the back plate, and dry it out while open to make sure its really dry. Then regrease and reseat the O rings to make sure it doesn't leak again. While there I'd personally check the movement is genuine, as real Panerai should'nt leak!

I would then pressure test it to ensure it was waterproof (Easy for me as I have a tester)

So you would be better to send it back to the seller and ask he put it right, if you are not mechanically inclined or don't have the right tools
