My first post yohoooo !
Been a long time fun of Panerai I am finally getting one myself.
It's my understanding that the serial # is also indicative of the year of production ?
Is it correct ? Does it apply to every model ?
Interested in buying a Pam 510, what series should I expect to get , for a brand new watch ?

Its the letter that precedes the serial number that tells the year of production.

If you're getting a brand new watch expect it to be from current year or one year previous usually.. depending on production. Sometimes they may skip a year if they have overproduced a certain model.. this has lead to speculation that certain models are discontinued.
